QUANTUM COMMUNICATIONS AND SOVEREIGNTY

Optimal • 25 November 2022

Organizer: ANACOM - Portuguese Committee of URSI

The 16th Congress of the Portuguese Committee of URSI took place on November 25, 2022, at the Lisbon Academy of Sciences and remotely, to discuss the future of quantum communications.

Quantum communications currently assume a fundamental role in global connectivity ecosystems and in communications networks, namely by introducing mechanisms to reinforce security, not only of these communications and data transaction processes between systems, but also of authentication processes and identity.

By taking advantage of the laws of Quantum Physics to protect data, it is possible to detect and contain, for example, the undue access of a malicious agent to information that is not intended for him, since he will not be able to go unnoticed without leaving a trace or a telltale sign of your activity.

Participation was free and open to all interested parties, only subject to prior registration by November 23, 2022.

The conference was a hybrid event, with the possibility of participating in person or remotely.
